"Who died and made you
king of the fucking zombies?"

This post was last updated on Nov. 1, 2011.

THE RULES
DRAMA-RAMA
Let's face it; drama happens. We're adults with differing opinions, and whether we like it or not, sometimes those opinions will clash. For the most part, we trust all of you to end the drama amongst yourselves, but that certainly doesn't mean that you can't come to us with issues. We're more than happy to listen and see if there's anything we can do to help. If there's persistent drama and you don't feel you can handle it anymore, don't hesitate to contact us at immunemod@gmail.com.
NOBODY LIKES A GODMOD
We have a no-exceptions, three strikes policy for godmodding.

Examples of godmodding:
- Trying to puppet another person's character without their permission.
- Causing harm to someone else's character without permission.
- When a character simply cannot be harmed by any and all means other RP-ers try.

It's generally not fun to play against someone who godmods, and while we understand that sometimes it happens by accident, repeat incidents won't be tolerated.
TAKE IT TO THE (CHARACTER) LIMIT
To start with, players are currently only allowed two characters, with an eventual limit of six. After your first two applications, please wait at least two weeks before placing another hold.

We'd prefer if your characters don't interact regularly, as it takes away from possible interactions with other people, but extenuating circumstances (e.g.: NPCs or characters who will soon be killed off) will be allowed.
ACTIVITY IS AWESOME
Players are expected to post at least one journal entry and one thread/log every month as well as keep up with replies to other characters and threads. Activity checks will occur at some point in the third week of each month, where we will post a list of those in danger of being swept, to give you a week to catch up. If you haven't caught up at the end of the first week of the next month, you will be swept.
HIATUSES ARE YOUR FRIENDS
We totally get that RL comes first. If you find yourself in need of a hiatus, please don't hesitate to ask and we will always grant hiatuses for as long as you need. However, please keep in mind that if no contact is made for a reasonable amount of time after your hiatus has ended, your character is liable to be swept.
WE ARE AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY RP
Slash, het, and femme are all permitted here.

Sexuality is fluid, and we understand this. We'd prefer you include your character's Kinsey Scale number in your application as a reference. We also understand that in characters, like in people, sexuality is subject to change. We would appreciate if you played this change properly, rather than just having them "wake up gay/straight."
PLAYED-BYS ARE FOR FUN
We understand that "age-appropriate" is relative. Not everyone looks their age, and that's fine. However, we prefer that PBs are at least somewhat age appropriate. We don't want a fifteen-year-old playing a twenty-five-year-old, nor do we want a fifty-year-old playing a thirty-year-old. We're quite lenient about PBs, and do not keep a banned PB list, just try to be age appropriate.
HALF THE FUN OF RP IS PLOTTING
Plots should be created with the thought that this is a zombie apocalypse in mind. Some plots wouldn't work as well as they would in other games. Major plots (death, rape, being bitten, and pregnancy) should be discussed with the mods beforehand, as we might have an idea to help, or might like you to wait until later to do it.
THE WONDER OF JOURNALS
Journals only count for one form of activity. Threads are still necessary to meet activity requirements. They can be used for communication or for private thought documentation, it's completely up to you. Keep in mind that a lot of random plotting comes up through journal interaction, though. Entries posted in journals are viewable to everyone unless stated otherwise.

Strikethrough text indicates that the text was written and erased or thought but not written. Thus, it is readable by players, but not characters.

If you wish to filter a post to one particular character, post their name in the "title" part of the entry. If you wish to filter a certain part of a post to a character use the following format:

It's a nice day outside.

Bobby
Except for that nasty raincloud overhead. Some weather, huh?

---

If you have any other questions about journal format, please don't hesitate to ask the mods.
HAVE FUN, SERIOUSLY
The most important rule of all. RP is a hobby and is meant to be fun, so please, have fun with it! If you have any questions at all, don't hesitate to contact the mods and we'll answer you a.s.a.p.!

THE FAQ
Q: Where and when does the game take place?
A: In New York City in 2019.
Q: How long has the infection been in the US?
A: We pictured it having hit the US in 2014, and reaching full-blown pandemic status in 2016 or so.
Q: How does time work?
A: Time is pretty relative in-game. For the most part, the game runs on a 24 hour schedule, in real time, but don't panic if you miss a little while. You can always backdate (or forward date) a post!
Q: Will there be gamewide plot?
A: There will! We like to think of the whole game as a gamewide plot, but we're always thinking of little things we can do to keep things fun and promote interaction between characters who wouldn't normally interact.
Q: Can I suggest gamewide plot?
A: Absolutely! The mods are always willing to listen to suggestions, and if there's some way we can make it work, we're more than willing to do so. Drop us a comment in the dropbox or drop us an email at immunemod@gmail.com to let us know!
Q: My character isn't immune. Do I have the option to make them immune later?
A: Absolutely. Can't run from the zombies forever, right? If they get bitten, we ask that you refer to the question below for how to proceed.
Q: How is it determined that one is immune?
A: By close monitoring after they're bitten. They're put in seclusion for up to two weeks after the initial bite, and if they show no signs of change, they're taken from seclusion and trained to fight or do something else considered "useful."
Q: Can my character be one of these trainers? Can my character be/do _______?
A: We're generally quite lenient about things like this, so the answer is usually yes, if it's apocalypse appropriate. If you're really not sure, please just ask us at the dropbox or email us at immunemod@gmail.com, and we'd be happy to let you know.
Q: So, immune animals, huh? What's the story there?
A: We decided that since the infection was something blood-related, animals are just as likely to be immune/non-immune as humans are. Basically any animal known to be in the New York City area can be immune, or infected.
Q: Is the government involved?
A: Sort of, but this is going to serve as gamewide plot later on, so we'd like to keep the extent of government involvement under wraps for the time being.
Q: I have another question, but it's not here. What do I do?
A: No worries! Just drop us a line at the dropbox or at immunemod@gmail.com and we'll be happy to provide you with an answer!
